Ba Zhang

I know, ba zhang festival is way over but then i din know it was ba zhang festival here till Laurent came and asked me if i wanted to make ba zhang.. y not rite since he got the recipe from his gf.. such a talented gf he has.. lol..


the ingredients...


this is a fucking expensive set of salted eggs... 2.69 pounds for 6...



chinese mushroom (yucks) and dried shrimps...

it was all eperimental as it was the first time i have ever done such things.. lol... luckily there was Lin Nyok to help us out.. she was kinda pro in it since she did it before back in her hometown.. i couldnt wrap the thing properly.. it always ended being flat and square instead of the usual shape which is like a pyramid(is it??)... lol.. i gave up after a wraping a couple of it... all i did was just put in the filling and pass it to the pro to wrap it up for me... lol..it turned out to be quite a success..especially the ones with the spicy dried shrimps (the ones that i cooked..bangganya)... lol..

since we did it in the middle of the nite.. i did not get much of sleep coz u have to boil the zhangs for 3 hours and hang it to dry for another 3 hours.. so much work but it's all worth it.. lol...
